Dennis Osadebe
Known for his vibrant, post-pop style, Dennis Osadebe reimagines Africa through the use of positive, provocative, and progressive imagery, and narratives, forging a dialogue where tradition meets invention and innovation. Through juxtaposing elements of the past alongside the present, while utilizing his Nigerian heritage as a starting point, Osadebe places Africa in the context of the future and its limitless possibilities.
AR collaboration
“What do you stand for?”
From July 4-7, 2020, we celebrated the release of our first augmented reality (AR) sculpture, Stand for Something by Dennis Osadebe. This special release marked one year since our initial collaboration + release of Stand for Something, and allowed us to reflect on what we stand for, as a community.
Thank you for your expression of solidarity, and for sharing what you #STANDFOR with us.

Stand for Something
“What do you stand for? What does that say about you? For me, Neo Africa is a cause worth standing for, and it is also the inspiration behind my current work. In this piece, I have combined both urban (the street-style clothing) and traditional (the mask) cultures in order to reflect the Nigeria of today, a Nigeria the history of which has produced me as an artist and the forward-moving nature of which continues to influence me every single day.”
